Job Description

British Cycling’s key to success is the delivery of its One Stop Plan, through talented employees who can work within our sport at all levels. We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, appropriately qualified individual to join us.

The objective for our Coaching and Education team, based at the National Cycling Centre, is to improve the standard and profile of coaching, leadership and education in cycling, with the aim of developing cycling in the U.K., from participation through to performance.

We are looking for an individual to join our team, to develop the cycling specific elements of our coaching qualifications, i.e. modules related to road, track, bmx, cyclo-cross, cycle speedway and mtb, and deliver cycling specific education programmes in accordance with the new Government led UK Coaching Certificate.

To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate a technical knowledge of different cycling disciplines, gained as a participant or a coach, together with excellent planning, organisation, interpersonal and communication skills, including the sensitivity to work with and inspire coaches, leaders and others working in the sport. Administration skills and IT literacy are also important in this role. A degree in PE, Coaching, Sports Science or a related subject is essential, as is significant experience and understanding of coaching, leadership and education programmes.
